Wilson’s Prom 3 -2018

Trip 13

Wilsoms Prom 3 - 2018

January 20-28th 2018

Day 1

And as per now tradition a convoy journey with the McKerrals with a stop at Fish Creek for Coffee and snacks.

Arrival at The Prom was as magical as always, with the drive in as spectacular as expected.

Arrival at our new sites this year was met with happiness as we discovered it was a 3 pitch enclave, giving us real secludedness.

1st evening meal was a break with tradition for a normal camping trip, with a break from the normal Spag Bol and instead Pulled Pork Rolls.

Day 2

1st day was a warm one, Me and the boys went for a morning Fishing trip to the River, and after a day of swimming in the River and the sea we relaxed back at camp.  I went off to watch Star Wars the Last Jedi at the open air cinema.

Day 3

Another relaxing day at the river, Kayaking and swimming, and an afternoon of Bogie Boarding a fine evening walk saw out the day.

Day 4

We all went for a hike to the point, what a great view and walk.  Afternoon dip in the sea and at the river.

Day 5

Today saw us all split up and go our own ways for the day.  We decided to stay close to camp I walked up to Lilly Pilly car park where I met the Boys and Miranda who drove up.  We then split up with Mitch and Miranda heading back to camp after a small walk, and Will and I heading up to Ninja Turtle Rock, and then hiking around the top to Tidal Lookout and back down to Camp.  Then an afternoon of board games back at camp and an early night.

Day 6

Another great day of swimming and relaxing with an evening Wombat Hunt.

Day 7

A great Afternoon of Boogie Boarding for me an Will over 3 hours in the water, great fun.

Day 8

Australia Day.  Normal Kids Australia Day Stall (Last one due to Ban by Rangers).  Afternoon at the River and a BBQ for Dinner.  Great Evening Sunset pictures to boot.

Day 9

My Birthday.  As Normal theres no better place to have a birthday.  Awesome float down the river at Derby River.  Saw an Emu on the River bank on the way down, Haha dip in the sea which was unusually calm.  Paddle back to start where we were surprised ny a Tiger Snake coming out of the Reeds and swimming towards us, before turning back to the reeds.  Got the heart rate up......  All went down to Beach for evening Sunset Pictures with the boys.

Day 10

Sad pack up but at least in the dry, as it had been all trip.  Great weather and Great company as always.

Usual stop at The Koonwarra General Store.
